Prophet Ilyas (Elias)

 Prophet Ilyas (known as Elias in Christian traditions) is a revered prophet in Islam. Although his story is not as widely discussed in the Qur'an as some other prophets, the lessons from his life continue to resonate with Muslims. Ilyas is best known for his unwavering dedication to calling people to the worship of the one true God, Allah, and for his struggle against idol worship.

Prophet Ilyas’ Mission and His Call to Monotheism

Prophet Ilyas is considered to have lived in the northern part of the ancient kingdom of Israel, a time when the people had strayed from the worship of Allah and turned to idolatry. They had begun worshiping the pagan god Baal, a practice which was promoted by their king, Ahab, and his wife, Jezebel.
